Nissan’s NISMO group has done all the non-obvious cars. Hell, even the Frontier’s been tweaked like a perp on Cops. Now the Z will finally get the aftermarket massage and happy ending it’s long since paid for with the NISMO Z coming next week to the New York auto show. It gets no more power, but isn’t 306 hp enough, along with its new body kit and Brembos? No pricing yet but you can bet those RAYS wheels don’t come cheaply.
Maybe your wardrobe isn’t so inspired these days, n’est-ce pas? Here’s the solution: clothes designed for cars by hockey players. Sounds like a fashion don’t? Take a look before you diss at the new line of casual wear inspired by the Ford Edge. As the company says, its “five-piece collection offers bold design”—by coincidence we think, just like its crossover vehicle! The resulting Edge Body Gear tank top, pant, panel jacket, t-shirt and bag are destined to be sold online at www.dominatorclothing.com at prices from $30 to $80. So, what’s the hockey connection? Dominator’s owned by Detroit Red Wing Dominick Hasek, pictured here, but not wearing women’s clothes. (We’d turn that into a joke if he weren’t ready to check us into a wall already for stiffing him on the rent.)
You’ve seen it, right? The horror of comedian Eddie Griffin nailing a jersey barrier with a one-of-four-hundred Ferrari Enzo? We could be physically sick.
What’s worse, on some video we’ve seen, is how he refuses to break character when explaining to local news crews how he fucked up one of the rarest, most valuable cars on the planet. "Undercover Brother's good at karate and all the rest of that, but the Brother can't drive," Griffin told reporters, name-checking his 2002 film and making himself look more like an ass simultaneously.
For his $1.5 million accident, Griffin will no doubt get more publicity for his upcoming film Redline, even if he never came close to redlining the Enzo before flinging it into history. He wins no points from the car’s own, though—Daniel Sadek happens to be the producer of his movie.
"I'm glad Eddie came out of the crash okay, but my dream car got destroyed," Sadek said.
