2009 Cadillac XLR, Caught Without Camo

Our spies have caught the 2009 Cadillac XLR without even an inch of camouflage – exposing the new front fascia, which includes a new grille and restyled fog lamps. In addition, the XLR will be wearing a bit more jewelry – in this case, it will be chrome vents on the fenders.

Watch for an official debut of the 2009 XLR in the coming months.--Chris Doane for Brenda Priddy & Company

Still looks like a block of cheddar. This car has done nothing to increase my testosterone levels.

This failed vehicle was always ridiculously overpriced. It cost almost as much as its far superior Rivals, the Mercedes SL class!

*YAWN*…obviously GM’s design studio was “burning the midnight oil” to come up with these changes. C’mon guys, you’re better than this.

The J.C. Whitney look will definitely bring in the buyers. Jaguar has already done this look. Let’s be a little more bold and brassy.

Cadillac did a big mistake going with gm! Now there paying the price. The car should have more style and a better performance to go against germans!

I like this car. It’s agressive and powerful specialy whit the V performence package.

But the price is a little high.

Wow. That’s what I thought; if only they could lift some styling elements from the Ford Focus, then they would really be able to compete.

I think the V performance package is gonna make this car fly……it’ll problaly have the same engine block as the ZR1 with maybe 600 HP? Not sure if it’s enough to go against the SL AMG but at least it’s faster than the M6.

But the price will make the Z06 look like a bargain…

When you turn your car on, does it return the favor? By the looks of this XLR update, I’d say ‘no’. There’s nothing exciting about the design of this car to begin with, and the updates seem to work against it. The fender vents look like they were lifted straight off of the Saturn Vue. This is supposed to be a halo car, something that hovers over the rest of the lineup. Why is it then, that I find a much lower-priced 2008 CTS more appealing? I think the Cadillac design staples should be based on the new CTS….vertical lighting, large road-eating ‘get out of my way’ grille, muscular fender flares, and a modern, neat, uncomplicated interior. I know this is just an XLR update, but I do hope the redesign is more exciting and upscale.

Simply a stunning design. Cadillac has one of the most exotic designs on the planet. I cannot wait to see this luxury performance sports car in person.

It’s a beautiful car, and I bet its performance rivals the best from Germany. It may not have the “import” badge, but I bet it will be much more reliable in the long run than those overpriced, overhyped German sports sedans.

I really don’t see much of a difference from the previuos model. Maybe the interior has more significant changes.

I think that they’re going for a simple and quick refresh before the release a great and powerful redesigned XLR for the 2010 model year. this must be like a mid year crisis!

Pretty sweet looking Caddie! Definitely a head-turner and i like the way GM remodeled the front fascia with this new XLR. I’d love to see some spy shots of the interior on Caddie’s super-car.

It just sucks, it’s a sad overpriced car.

Wow. Same old same ol. Theres a reason you RARELY see these on the road. Id rather have a M6, SL, or an R8 for the Money.
