The next-generation Mustang prototypes have begun running around without the heavy vinyl camouflage seen on prior versions. The latest 2010 Ford Mustang prototypes are disguised only with a graphic tape, providing a very clean view of Ford's revamped pony car. In this case, TheCarConnection.com's spies caught a prototype for the next Shelby GT500 convertible in this more revealing state of undress, giving us our best look yet at the one of the range-topping models in Ford's future Mustang lineup.
In addition to the new grilles and headlight designs, we can clearly see a series of new hood ducts toward the front-third of the hood.
UPDATE: These new interior pictures have surfaced, showing a Mustang interior that keeps a familiar look but has a more tightly integrated, higher-quality appearance.
More details are coming at this fall's Los Angeles auto show. Stay tuned.--KGP Photography

October 10th, 2008 - 2:09 pmI’m not a huge fan of the 2010 styling depicted in the various pictures shown all over the internet recently. That’s ok though because if the current generation is any hint to it’s potential sales, it will do just fine. IMO, the current model is alright from the dealer but with any of the many aftermarket parts available, it’s VERY easy to make the car a great looker and performer. I think the Mustang is a very good “old-school” type car for the enthusiast crowd. Not bad totally stock but lends itself to a wide range of modifications which allows the owner to personalize his or her car. As far as the comments about the “base model” car needing to be a true performance car, I totally disagree. Not everyone who wants a Mustang, wants a racecar. Many simply want a more unique looking car. One that doesn’t look like everything else on the road. After all, it’s a “ponycar”, not a “sportscar”.
