What the heck is that? If you've been reading TheCarConnection.com for most of its online life -- more than 10 years online at this writing -- you'll recognize this very early logo. We forgive you if you think it looks like a car towing a computer. Back in the early days of the Web, towing a computer was better than not owning one at all. And, well...we were writers, not tech gurus and certainly not highly paid illustrators.

Times change, and so does the ethos of the Web. TheCarConnection.com is changing too, and in the next few weeks you'll discover more of what we have in mind for the most comprehensive re-think in TCC's history.

You've seen some of the changes so far. We launched an iPhone application that gives you an idea of the direction our new site will take. The clever readers will notice some minor tweaks to road tests this year. Recently we put our award-winning newsletters on hiatus while we come up with an even better way to deliver the car reviews and news you want directly to your inbox.

There's far more to come. We can't spill all the beans today, but when the changes start coming, you'll find reviews that are the most comprehensive on the Web. You'll get more photos, great pricing and shopping information, globe-spanning auto show coverage, and a slick new design that's easy to navigate. If I told you more, I'd be out of a job, and I'm no good at pulling espressos.

While our new reviews, blogs, and interface hide behind a firewall, we'll be posting less to the current site. We'll make this down time as quick as possible. In the meantime, please do stay tuned--everyone at the Car Advisory Network is proud of what we're ready to launch soon, and what we have planned for the next year.

My work supplies be with a BB…iPhone does not have the support for push email….it was never designed to be this type of tool so iPhone will continue to be marketed to teenie boppers and people who think Macs are cool.

Agreed, I believe the iteration of TCC prior to this one was the best. It was easy to find content (which I believe was much better) — so I will echo the same sentiments that other commenters have left, hopefully this version will be a major improvement upon TCC and will bring it closer to what it used to be.

Been reading TCC for years up until lately. Site looks more like an add agency for all the car brands now. What happened to Tails from the Goodwrench, mister? Q&A with the grumpy old mechanic? Anything BESIDES adds for new cars.

I biggest beef is the blog articles are not at the top of the page. The article that changes twice a month is at the top. I liked the old design better….

It seems over the last few years TCC has become more complicated to navigate. In the last couple of months there have been fewer new articles/reviews written often going for days with nothing new. I was beginning to wonder if TCC was going out of business. I hope the changes make TCC more like the old days.

I was a regular reader of the original formart TCC, but when it changed I found it less convenient and ended up only writing in the blog, and once a month getting the detailed sales figures early from PR Newswire.

Hopefully the 3rd incarnation will bring it closer to the convenient first one.

Yeah, but Flood, you complain about everything. :)

Must say my expectations are low about yet another change - seems like you’ve been drifting about for a couple of years at least. Updated information (content) seems to lag with breaks of a week, two weeks and so on.

And don’t brag about the iPhone - you must remember you’re on the WORLD wide web - the iPhone isn’t a business tool.

What ever you do stick with it…….don’t be flipping to another ‘ethos’ too soon.

Good luck (again) - we’ll see if you stay in ‘my favorites’….

iPhone? What about BlackBerry? Everyone I know who would read this site has a BB….iPhones are not for business professionals.
