PirateAvast ye scurvy wenches and prepare to be boarded! Or something like that. It's Talk Like a Pirate Day--you know, the holiday that took the place of Arbor Day on our corporate calendar--and an excuse for all kinds of otherwise normal-appearing people to speak like Johnny Depp speaking like Keith Richards.

It's no Martin Luther King Day. Pirate day was started in 1995 by two folks from Oregon who thought it sounded clever, then hyped by Dave Barry in a 2002 book.

So while you're practicing some pirate pickup lines and trying on eyepatches at Target, tell us -- which car from the past 25 years made you go "aarrggh!" The comment section awaits you, mateys.

Well Rattle my Roots and Ravage a Princess - ye’d find no better vessel for sailin’ than the Blue Oval’s ‘73 Ford Galaxie Hundred-by-Five! Shake the heavens! Land lubber Karl Malden drove one a’ these shapely lasses in Streets of San Franciscer, and a finer donut-n-coffee diner has yet to be seen in these parts. AARGH!!

You say she’s older than 25 years? GARBAGE!! Well blast ye ta hell and walk oer tha plank!

Why there is no ghastly vessel in all the land that sticks in my craggy, barnacle-laden craw than, of course, an early 1980s Rolls Royce Camarrrrrgggggue. There has never been a more floaty chassis or sadder prow to be adorned by the flying lass, much less a craft — with its cheerio-size wheels — that more approximates a fat buccaneer on a barrrrrgggh stool. With its anemic engine and avoirrrrrrdupois, it should be the plank for the scallywag that designed this heap. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Camargue.JPG
