Celebrity generosity knows few bounds. Mel Gibson gave the LAPD a piece of his twisted mind this weekend, and now Cher is giving away HUMMERs to anyone who will pay. Well, it’s not quite what it sounds like—the sexagenarian superstar and future Vegas lounge act is auctioning off 700 of her most beloved belongings from her Malibu home, including a 2003 HUMMER H2 and several Bob Mackie gowns that just don’t “work” with the supreme off-roader. Cher says she’s giving away lots of the proceeds to charity, and expects to make $1 million or so via the Sotheby’s auctions. (Hands off the Gothic-revival brass bed, that’s ours!)
