Gran Turismo - Not the Cardigans, but Maserati

This is all a bit too esoteric for early morning, but hey - remember the Cardigans? That catchy Lovefool song? The follow-up was a darker, less catchy, heavily art-directed brown disc called Gran Turismo that sported a couple of singles we like, including Erase/Rewind. You should catch it. VH1 even has the Cardigans on its top 100 one-hit wonders, even though they got it wrong, since Erase/Rewind actually charted, along with My Favorite Game.

The point being that Gran Turismo is also the name of the new Maserati coupe concept coming to Geneva. Rumors had it pegged as the next Mistral, but apparently, rumors don't understand enough Italian to translate properly.

Along with the revised six-speed Quattroporte, the new Gran Turismo should be in U.S. showrooms by early next year. Or whenever Maserati gets around to it. With all the turmoil at home - first they're Ferrari juniors, now they're Fiat seniors - we just take it one day at a time.
