   In the US, buick hasd priced itself out of its poor customers, I've read studies/articles that claimed that li'l old ladies living on Fixed Incomes cannot any longer afford the LAcrosses and the Lucernes, and the cars have at least twice the HP these costumers need, so they are unnecessarily wasteful and expensive.
   
   But Buick is going great in China, it can keep operating and expanding there (Shanghai Automotive).

   You are 100% wrong, and it is NOT just my opinion, I am quoting what I read in SERIOUS Automotive publications such as Automotive News.

   It looks like a nice car. I really want to see GM and other American carmakers make it in their market. GM is really making an effort to reduce the amount of dealers and offering nicer product. Look at the new Malibu. It is stunning and has a real quality flair to it. If GM continues to make beautiful product like this and give it quality to last and get a better resale vakue we are there!!!

   Maybe this new Buick LaCrosse design will shut-up those so-called critics who constantly identify the Buick line as an "old man's or old women's car". Have those "jerks" looked at some other "old people's" cars (Toyota Camary for example). Yet Toyota is never critized. Thanks that Bob Lutz came to GM's aid; I hope he never retires.

   The ultimate critics, the CONSUMERS, have spoken with the only thing that matters, THEIR WALLETS, and they clobbered the stupid buicks, and I EXPLAINED WHY, the poor lil' old ladies on FIXED INCOME have seen these vehicles priced WAY BEYOND THEIR REACH, and NO new group of customers stepped in to buy them, SO their sales AND production of both the Lacrosse and esp. the $40k LUCERNE have been hit hard. AND this will ONLY Continue in April, where MPG will be the FIRST and FOREMOST Criterion for all these consumers of limited means.
   
   BTW, I fully appreciate what Bob Lutz did for GM and I ALSO hope he never retires, but what he tried to do at Buick, when he gave the thumbs down at the first, and execrable, LAcreosse and Lucerne designs, and forced the designers to do better) was NOT nearly as successful with his other achievements (Chevy MALIBU new, Acadia-Outlook-Enclave-Traverse crossovers etc)

   One day the Camry, now the media darling, will be demeaned as an old people's car. In fact the conservative a soulless Japanese automobile will become a relic of aging baby-boomers and their blind successors.
   
   Those with an open mind will rediscover brands like Buick and Detriot will its rightful place as the standard of excellence.

   Buick is back-get a life. Where is Roadmaster ? Buick is still warmed over puke. The boys at GM still can't find a clean sheet of paper.They had dough to produce to a 50k convertable pickup truck & and import a obsolete GTO from the AUSSIES. What is their priorty? They're going to "warm themselves out of business".

   What ever happened to the inspiring names that Buick used to put on their automobiles? I yearn to hear about Specials, Supers, Roadmasters, Centurys, Electras, Electra 225's and even Invictas. What do we get nowadays? Lucerne, (sounds like a gallon of low fat milk). LaCrosse (could have chosen Hockey puck).
   
   My buddy's dad had a super with a ribbon speedometer with a little hook point on it that ran from 0 to 125 MPH. One afternoon, out joyriding, we drove down a freeway in one of the local canyons with the entire speedometer filled with red! That 401 C.I. nailvalve wasn't even sweating it.
   
   My own dad had a '59 Electra 225. Those wide tailfins meant it had a trunk that could hold 6 teenagers with ease, and at least 10 more inside the car. 4 across the front seat was de riguer at that time with one of the seatbelts wrapped around 2 of the kids. I was driving down a local road doing about 100 MPH when an "old guy" in a pickup pulled out of a side street. I hit the brake pedal with both feet and that way over-boosted set of 4 finned aluminum drums locked up all 4 wheels like there was no tomorrow, and the car came to a stop just 5 feet short of to hitting the truck.
   
   When the dust settled, I started to drive (slowly!) home only to learn the meaning of brake fade. That sucker flat out wouldn't stop! Dragging my foot would have done a better job. I slammed the car into low range, and slowed down to about 10 MPH and finally stopped it by yanking it into reverse and hitting the gas and finally slamming it into park! After it sat in a parking lot for 15 minutes, it ran (and stopped!) just like a new car.
   
   I know it sounds strange, but my mom later traded the Electra 225 in for her first Toyota, a Corona, in 1968. And during that 95,000 mile period, the transmission never complained at all.
   
   By the way, I now have her '68 Corona in my driveway and am restoring it to a daily driver usage; but I would almost kill for a '59 Electra 225.

    Bob Lutz was the car-guy who came out with the phrase, "Gotta have car(s),"
    when he was at Chrysler. I bought a 300M, voted Motor Trend's 1999 "Car of The Year." I still have that car. Because in the mid-range of American-made name plates, I haven't found anything I liked better that offered up what this car did when it first came out.
    Now that Mr. Lutz is with GM, I hope he and his design team can recapture that old refrain from yesteryear, "When Better Cars are Built, Buick Will Build Them!"
    From these peek-a-boo shots of the 2010 LaCrosse, I'm beginning to sense that this could be the one!
