2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon Bows
2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon BowsThe new wagon has a "dynamic presence," Cadillac says, and its striking shape is an unusual fastback form that's aimed at European tastes--no surprise since the new wagon is aimed at the same kind of customers who typically consider BMW or Benz small wagons.
Cadillac calls the Sport Wagon a "sister vehicle" to the CTS Coupe Concept, which has been all but confirmed by Cadillac after its Detroit auto show debut. The Sport Wagon shares the CTS sedan's wheelbase and front-end styling, but in back, it's blended utility into its tail, along with features like a roof rack, a power liftgate, and a panoramic sunroof.
The CTS Sport Wagon will be offered with a range of V-6 engines, including a diesel aimed for European customers. The base V-6 makes 263 horsepower; the direct-injection V-6, 304 hp; and the new 2.9-liter turbodiesel, 250 hp. Six-speed manual and automatic transmissions will be available. An all-wheel-drive version will also be offered, along with gadgets like a 40GB music hard drive, navigation system, and Sapele wood trim.

I'll just have too take a stab in the dark!.
How's about the "CORVAIR"?; The beginning of the end for GM,
GM's downfall, at it's genesis and [conception]!.
The morons with money!; that keep getting there hands on [American] companies, not solely GM.
Do not have the nerve!; nor guile to let GM [or] the others [ford-chrysler]!! : just go do your thing.
Here you have displayed on your page [site]!!:Some of what GM![as] are, the Others capable of bringing to market.
Not only bringing too market?: Also the capability; along with ability, too sell in "MASS" Quantities!.
Shame!:that all of the educated intellectuals!;of the old world, along with new world Money!, want to sell CRAP[ola] to the "Consumers", also to the Consumer in the tax base! [The U.S. government at all of it's levels[state- county - municipal etc.].
CRYING!:shame; to let such a GRANDÉ!, Auto Motive HISTORY!, just go "south bound" and ""FLUSHED" down the drain! [and] over some ""MINDLESS" attitudes, no less!.

I think that Cadillac has done a great job. To compete on the global level you need more than just one version of a single car to expand your brand (BWM 3 & 5 series). While not everyone will like the wagon, it's unique, attractive and is a great alternative to the gas guzzling sport utilities out there. The CTS is the best GM vehicle in 10 years outside of the Corvette and the upcoming coupe will be a grand slam.
Cadillac has a great deal of heritage and lots of style, more than I can say for most of the Japanese imports that are too generic and most look like a modified bar of soap.
Say what you will and it seems that willy j has a lot of rambling on his mind, but hats off to Cadillac to reach out and do something different for an American car maker.
BTW, I drive a Japanese car...until I can get my hands on a new CTS.

I think this will be a modest success for Cadillac. Comparing it to the Magnum is a fool's game because that was definitely not a luxury car (interior by Rubbermaid). BMW and Benz sell quite a few wagons. It's the price of competing in the deep end of the pool, just like building manual trannies even though less than 10% of buyers even know how to drive one.
Hey Willy J, are you one of those guys that drives around in an old van covered in vitriolic statements about the government and the coming end of mankind? I'm just impressed your comments aren't submitted in all caps.
