2009 Kia Borrego Gets Five Stars
2009 Kia Borrego Gets Five StarsThis makes the Borrego the fifth vehicle in Kia's stable to earn five stars from the NHTSA. Other Kia vehicles with that distinction include the Optima, Sportage, Sorento, and Sedona.
Standard safety features on the competitively priced Borrego include: advanced airbags, front seat mounted side airbags, full-length side-curtain airbags for all three rows and driver's knee airbag (V-8 models only); four-wheel disc brakes with an anti-lock brake system (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and traction control system (TCS); tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS); electronic brake distribution (EBD); and a brake assist system (BAS).
It remains to be seen whether consumers will warm to yet another heavy, full-frame SUV, but with a newly developed optional V-8 from the Genesis sedan (that earns better highway fuel economy than the base V-6) and impressive safety, the Borrego is off to a solid start. This was the vehicle's first test by the NHTSA. This makes the Borrego the fifth vehicle in Kia's stable to earn five stars from the NHTSA. We need to say no to Korean cars. They have awful business tactics and treat their employees badly. The Chinese are not far behind. The Japanese already took over - we don't need any more of Asia here - seriously people. Say no to Chevy Torrent with the Chinese POS engine too.

I just don't see this model doing well at all and for two reasons:
1. It is a Kia...'nuff said.
2. It is gas guzzler in a sea of gas guzzlers, who would want one?
Maybe if gas drops below $2 per gallon....

Ms.
I have one of these and would NOT trade it for the world! I got it in place of a minivan. I would not go back to a van now. I had the Kia Sedona minivan and it was totaled w/out an injury to me- the safety is worth it all!! It drive very smooth and gets better gas milage than my van did! I love my Borrego!!!!!!
