The pictures of the production Volt show all the details we've been bringing you for the past months--along with the GM engineers in charge of developing the vehicle.
We'll be talking to those engineers and GM vice chairman Bob Lutz next week, as TheCarConnection.com heads to the Renaissance Center for the world debut of the Volt. When I first saw the teaser shots, I thought it was going to be a Cobalt with a little more style...now I see it looks way better. Nice character lines and although I'd have to see the black rear portion in person (that may be a questionable design choice), I think it looks great.
If it can deliver on the stated MPG and performance, I say hats off to GM.

I don't think the styling is really going to matter that much. As long as it pleases the "green is more important" crowd, than it will do well. The vehicle itself offers a lot to a lot of people, so as long as the performance of fuel economy is there, fit and finish is import like, and driving it is easy and pleasurable enough....GM will do well.

Sorry GM this thing is ugly. It doesn't even come close to the concept. I agree with Scott S. It was cool now it is lame. GM just wasted there time.

The original Volt concept looked futuristic for futuristic's sake. This one looks like an actual car that will get GM to the forefront of next-gen automotive innovation.

#1. The Volt always had 4 doors. Go back and look at the concept again.
#2. The Volt concept had awful aerodynamics. The goal is to get the most mileage possible and that unfortunately didn't work with the concept's styling.
This is one of the most aerodynamic shapes there is while still offering decent interior room. It's still more stylish than the Prius or new Honda Insight, IMO.

Go GM, Go USA, Please do not outsource to Asia. Stack the power source and bring on the SUV's. Half stack and bring on the Mini's. Sell solar panel easy install home Volt charging kit at cost when customers buy the Volt. Hire the Whiz Kids from the fifties (Lee Iacoca, John DeLorean, Mr. Corvette) or their relatives to promote the volt and beyond.
Cmon, GM get out of the cubicles and promote the volt and make the world want our USA made products! Thank-you, Mike
