These photos of the production 2011
Chevrolet Volt have been released on a media information Web site.
The pictures of the production Volt show all the details we've been bringing you for the past months--along with the GM engineers in charge of developing the vehicle.
We'll be talking to those engineers and GM vice chairman Bob Lutz next week, as TheCarConnection.com heads to the Renaissance Center for the world debut of the Volt. Keep this page bookmarked for more photos and more details as they emerge this week--and stay tuned next Tuesday for all the coverage of the Volt we can possibly generate.
UPDATE: GM says the photo release was an accident.

I see the GM haters are out in force. No one is forcing you to buy it. Go by a Honda, sheep.

So sad -- it's just like GM to make a big deal about featuring GM executives more prominently than the car itself.
Too bad that GM execs still don't understand that carbuyers don't care about seeing Photoshop-enhanced beauty shots of GM bigwigs. What people want from GM is a variety of stylish, affordable, fun-to-drive vehicles that are reliable and easy on gas ... like a Honda Civic.
These photos may have been released accidentally, but their focus on GM honchos reveals a lot about GM's true priorities.

Good luck. US automakers are in a panic. Can you just see these on the side of the road charging their batteries that have run out?

Yup - This thing looks like a Prius. They should have sacraficed a few mpgs to stay with the old prototype styling.
I'd rather by a prius, because it looks the same and they have more experience under thier belt.
You gotta be new and different. This is not.

Can we please get that ugly car out of the backdrop and maybe have those hunky GM executives take off a few layers! They are SuPER!

Totally agree with Scott S. I just showed the pictures to my husband who has been holding off buying a new car because he really wanted one of these. There was no question in his mind that he was going to buy a Volt. One look at these pictures and he exclaimed, "That sucks! I'm not buying one now." GM just lost one fist full of cash. :(

Nice to know GM is still sticking with their "wow them now" but then "disappoint them later" mentality. It was just a couple of months ago when they were teasing us with a car that actually looked interesting, and turned it into another run of the mill American made bore..

For those of us in So California where our electric bills are already massive every month, where is the cost benefit? Will it actually save me or cost me money to "plug up" my car?

When I first saw the VOLT concept car design I thought that GM finally understood that style was important to its potential customer base for this revolutionary vehicle. I was wrong. I will not purchase a car that looks just as ugly as the other hybrids that are out there. How about doing something truly revolutionary by producing an energy-efficient design that someone can be actually proud to own? How can any of those executives be proud to pose with this hideous looking vehicle?

I agree that the concept was very cool and had me excited, but now everyone will have to settle for the same old lame family car design to get fuel efficiency.
