These photos of the production 2011 Chevrolet Volt have been released on a media information Web site.

The pictures of the production Volt show all the details we've been bringing you for the past months--along with the GM engineers in charge of developing the vehicle.

We'll be talking to those engineers and GM vice chairman Bob Lutz next week, as TheCarConnection.com heads to the Renaissance Center for the world debut of the Volt. Keep this page bookmarked for more photos and more details as they emerge this week--and stay tuned next Tuesday for all the coverage of the Volt we can possibly generate.

UPDATE: GM says the photo release was an accident.

Michael: Yes, plugging it in is still technically polluting. But it's polluting far less than the ICE would be. Small steps my friend. I wish all our energy was green, but that's just not the case. This is still better than buying one of those monster trucks the young guys in my city seem to love so much. They don't care about the fuel b/c usually work pays it for them. They also don't care about how badly they're polluting either. But some of us do.

I like the quote "wow them now" but then "disappoint them later" mentality.
This photo shoot was pretty much to show off the rich execs pouring millions of dollars into a project that would probably not see production or cut so much production that it won't even compete. These egos that GM has is the reason why their company is failing. This Volt concept is more of a "play me up" for the investors rather than for the consumer. I've seen many car shows with new GM vehicles and designs that wow and impress the crowd, none of them ever made it into production. These people want to pour money into fancy concepts to stir the press but never to stir production.
I'm sorry but I doubt GM will ever deliver.

Well it looks like another ugly GREEN car. I don't understand why all car manufacturers make the good gas milage cars so ugly and prius is the all time ugliest car ever. I will never drive one till they start making them look good.

Just another ugly Chevrolet with batteries and a motorcylce engine. I guess it is better than nothing. It sure is nothing like the concept which was previously displayed. The management at GM does not listen to the American public. That is why they are in such deep trouble.

GM: Move forward and don't listen to these short-sighted selfish lemmings. They complain about the design being boring and then finish the sentence by saying "I'll just wait for a Honda." I will never understand how Americans seemingly root against our domestic automakers. First they say, "We need more MPG." So, GM gives us the effective 100 MPG Volt and they scream that it doesn't look as cool as a Camaro. Other nations place extreme tariffs on our exports and prop up their own domestic auto makers and our folks look for every reason to not support ours. In 10 years when Chevy has a 40 MPG full size truck they will whine that it doesn't have enough horsepower.
Keep plugging ahead GM. These losers on this blog weren't really in your demographic anyhow. Just know that there are some of us out here following your endeavors and rooting for the home team. I for one appreciate the effort and result.
