We've been firing off spy shots of the future sedan, and we were planning on showing it to you live from the 2008 Los Angeles auto show before GM axed its appearance at the last minute. Now, though, we can bring you this video clip of the 2010 Buick LaCrosse, surrounding by lots of classic Buick sheetmetal and a shot of the new car's interior, too.

In the new clip, GM traces the development of Buick design from GM's earlier days. Current GM design chief Ed Welburn walks viewers through the brand's history--and its imminent future, depending on how well the Big Three Bailout mission goes today in D.C.

    I wonder if GM's state of the art 4-speed auto transmission and the 200-hp base engine from the 2009 model make it into 2010...

    I agree with JKD, but you have to agree this a good looking car. GM is going in the right direction design wise at least.

    I believe it will have the same engines as the Malibu, but only with 6 speed auto. 260hp should be enough for this car. My beef is rear seat headroom, and the trunk looks small.

    Poor GM. They get it wrong even in their own promo video. If you look at the twenty second mark you'll see that the car pictured is a Cadillac Eldorado convertable, circa '59 or '60!

    Too little, too late.
    The pitiful Lacrosse, not to mention even the Lucerne, should be one of the almost 100 models GM needs to DISCONTINUE, if not for technical reasons, for ECON reasons anyway.
    Toyota had no more luck with its Buick-fighter the Avalon, which may look really good on paper (HP, price etc) but is a really lame, reactionary car bought by buyers who will be literally dead by the time they trade it in...
    And PLEASE do not tell me that the czhinese like Buicks. I am aware. I lived and worked in China for a month too, and I have seen them. Did GM ask the chinese Gov for a Bailout? IF it does, and it gets any $, then it can put Buick on life-support.

    Foreign governments subsidize their car industry, so why shouldn't the US? GM is going in the right direction, and the Buick LaCrosse is a great example. And it's not too little too late. It's a small but important step towards the road to recovery. Give the Big 3 a chance, and stop asking for them to go bankrupt. Bankruptcy is and will never be an option when millions of jobs are at stake. Why is the Big 3 singled out as the bad guy here when it's the politicians and investors who got us in this mess? Why should the Big 3 give up their corporate jets when politicians like Nancy Pelosi have one as well? I'm tired of all these double-standards. Why is it ok to bail out banks and financial institutions and not the auto companies? These same banks should use their bailout money to lend to these car companies, and the loans won't be needed for the auto industry.

    I agree that there were several Buicks, even back in the 90s (park Avenue etc) that looked either inoffensive or even good, and similar to far better cars (Jags etc), BUT once you open the door and sit at the wheel, the gauges in front of you were DISMALLY UGLY and poorly designed, ergonomically, materials, and etc-wise.

    Ed- I agree. Take for instance the interior of a 03 LeSabre, totaly pitiful! And they wonder why they are in the state they are in. Materials where crap, dash panel gaps where crap. And that was not that long ago. But man what they have done in the past few years like the interiors of the CTS, 2010 LaCrosse, it does look promising. But is it to late?

    It will probably be a good-looking car but, c'mon, if they're updating the powertrain then why not have it ride on the CTS or the G8 (or its derivative) platform? A nice, budget-priced, rear-driven Buick would have had a chance.
