2009 Detroit Show: Cadillac Converj Concept

Cadillac will join the Chevrolet Volt in the march toward electrified vehicles, if GM's new concept Converj is any indication.

The Converj was the surprise announcement at the 2009 Detroit auto show, on display alongside the 2010 Cadillac SRX, the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox and the Orlando MPV and Chevrolet Beat concepts which will go into production in the next two years.

The Converj shares the extended-range powertrain of the 2011 Chevrolet Volt--essentially, a 40-mile electric powertrain with a small gasoline engine that can recharge the car's batteries. The concept has its own sharply creased bodywork that surrounds the "Voltec" powertrain.

There's more to come -- stay tuned.

    Mr

Looks a bit like a Cadillaced lambo. Looks good and may be way to pay for the development of the volt through a brand they can charge more for (no pun intended).
Why has it taken disaster for GM to get into gear!
