At the upcoming Chicago Auto Show (Feb. 13-22), Chevrolet will introduce an updated Bumblebee Camaro; the same vehicle is said to make an appearance in the upcoming Transformers 2 movie coming to theaters June 26.
We first saw the Bumblebee Camaro last fall at SEMA; the new version receives subtle updates that make it even more compelling like a wide hood scoop, a more menacing face and chin spoiler, and co0l projector beam fogs nestled in their own rectangular pockets. A great retro nod is the new alloys, which resemble oversize reel-to-reel audio tape spools. The paint now has a metallic flake, and its hue is perhaps a touch stealthier than the orange applied to the SEMA concept. A new rear spoiler has also been fitted.
The new concept is said to have the same mechanicals as the first Bumblebee Camaro concept. The pictures here are from site camaroblog.com and were taken during filming of Transformers 2 at the White Sands Air Force Base.
