Representing "the absolute zenith in the high-end luxury saloon segment," Maybach rolls out the ultimate in ultimate over-the-top luxury motoring, the Maybach Zeppelin. For the lady who has absolutely everything yet still wants more, the Zeppelin pampers with items like an available "highly sophisticated perfume atomiser."
The Zeppelin will be available on both 57 (regular wheelbase) and 62 (long wheelbase) Maybach platforms. A unique paint finish with a shoulderline in contrasting color (Rocky Mountains light brown contrasts with Taiga black on the Zeppelin), a bespoke handcrafted interior, and the most powerful Maybach powertrain ever (640 hp, 738 lb-ft) ensure that this model handily eclipses all others bearing the Maybach name. Of course, buyers may specify their own unique paint colors to further customize the vehicle to their liking.
The Zeppelin nomenclature harks to the model of the same name launched in the 1930s, which took its place as the "ultimate in high class automotive engineering." Another interesting parallel seems to be odd launch timing during a rather severe recession. But perhaps the Donald Trumps of the world will stop at nothing to be driven in a one-off like this, with its production run of only 100 vehicles. Sale date for the Maybach Zeppelin is March 3, 2009.
Uh, where's the obvious hydrogen powertrain?

It's the Led Zeppelin
Wonder when Maybach will do the right thing and fit a hydrogen engine....

But...
Forget the atomizer. For that kind of coin I'd want a hybrid drive. Practical, since it would be as quiet as a church mouse around town, down tony drives and in front of restaurants. Image Enhancer--no matter how poor the mileage, you get to put that little green pius logo on your boot so everyone thinks you're saving the planet. Personally, I'd prefer personalized sheetmetal--it just looks like a last-gen S class.
