2011 Dodge Circuit EVEnlarge PhotoA nice surprise for fans of sports cars with cross-hatched grilles: Yesterday's restructuring plan for Chrysler shows that its first electric vehicle will be the the 2011 Dodge Circuit (nee EV) sports car--but it won't be the Lotus Europa with a nose job Chrysler's been showing. Instead, the Circuit will be an electric roadster, much closer to the company's delightful 2007 Dodge Demon concept. What?
WTF? Why then are they making a big deal about the car as it is? They have shown it twice, with slightly different looks, and now it's gonna be nothing like that? Just isn't right.

Good
They have been taking a beating latly about rebadging a lotus. If this is true at least this is there own design. The Demon looked better I think.

Smart Move Chrysler!
This is a good decision by Chrysler. As a roadster, the initial offering will have limited demand, yet ogles of sex appeal and publicity. It will also go a long way in confirming Dodges' role as the performance line at Chrysler. Made in limited numbers it should give Chrysler an opportunity to build them slowly and work out the bugs. If enough demand is generated it can easily be sold with a conventional power train. Can't wait to see the final version.
