For weeks, details of the Murcielago LP 650-4 Roadster have been oozing out of Lamborghini headquarters like bourbon from Nick Nolte's pores. Apparently, someone in Sant'Agata Bolognese finally got the picture and sent out a press release--you know, just to make things official.

As expected the LP 650-4 will be a monster. The 6.5-liter V12 will crank out 650hp (didn't see that coming, did you?) and hit 60mph in around 3.4 seconds. It'll top out just over 200mph. The design is a curious gray/orange combo, which reads as "understated elegance" or "80s flashback", depending on your point of view (and age).

Our fave line of the release? "The LP 650-4 logo applied to the car’s exterior is recognition of the car’s increased power." Sounds a little grand, but whatever: it's Lamborghini, they can write what the hell they want.

The LP 650-4 will be produced in a limited run of 50, so if you still have a bank account--the kind with money in it--haul out the checkbook now.

    WOW

I love this car. First it's a Lambo! Second, and call me crazy, but I think that paint scheme looks great on the car! Yeah it's a bit loud, but, again, it's a Lambo! I've been reading some comments on this car on other auto sites, and people complain that it's a limited edition with only "10hp and paint" and "the only thing limited is the price they can charge extra". Both points are kinda stupid. Keep in mind "Pace Car" packages that people here in the states seem to love are just "stickers" and the maker charges more for them too!
At least with this it's a Lambo, and it's sexy!
