Had enough catfights and name-calling for one day? Need to reboot with some straightforward autopr0nography? Well, we can't think of anything more refreshing, more exhilarating than this racing segment from Top Gear, featuring two of the mac-daddiest supercars around: the Bugatti Veyron and the McLaren F1. Well, okay, maybe we can think of a couple of things that are more visually stimulating, but hey, our moms read this stuff.

Did you notice that once the Veyron's wing came up it sped past the F1? The downforce allowed it to put more power on the road.
You wouldn't think it needed much help, since nearly a full ton heavier than the F1. Physics is a crazy ride, right?

Think of all the competing forces in this race (weight, mass, drag, downforce, power, grip). I find the application of physics to these kinds of things fascinating.
Me, too. Unfortunately, my high school physics prof failed physics himself, so my understanding of the subject is limited at best. But that doesn't keep me from trying...
