Video: New Zealanders Build Amphibious Van

We know a lot of you are tinkerers -- the sort of  people who prefer to spend long holiday weekends leaning over engines instead taking the boat out for a spin. Well, here's a video clip from some guys who've found a way to do both. For about $2500 NZ ($1709 U.S.), two aeronautic machinists converted a simple Toyota van into a fully amphibious vehicle, then took it on a roughly 60 mile adventure from New Zealand's South Island to the North Island. Check the video above as they quite literally roll into Wellington after their 10 hour trip. Yeah, that'll make you feel like an underachiever. [YouTube via BoingBoing]
