Porsche might want to lay off the hubris for a while. The company spent much of the past year tilting at the giant windmill known as Volkswagen and insisting that it isn't interested in new models or VW technology. Today, not only is Porsche owned by VW, but also we're getting word from Porsche's head of development, Wolfgang Duerheimer, that the company is working on a new "bottom-of-the-range" model, which is likely to borrow tech from VW. (Something like the BlueSport concept, perhaps?) It's nice to see Porsche thinking sensibly again, but will they be able to counter slumping sales and meet new efficiency requirements?[Drive.com.au]
