Forget the Tata Nano—the $2,500 car aimed at the developing world—or even the cheapest models in the U.S. market, the $9,970 Hyundai Accent and $9,990 Nissan Versa.
If you're on a shoestring budget, a used car like the 1993 Ford Taurus might be the only option.
Leave it to the sometimes-funny, always-ridiculous folks at The Onion to give the '93 Taurus the big auto-show intro it deserves.
This "car for the modern age" comes with almost everything you'd ever need (Primus tape included) in a vehicle. Well…perhaps only if you were a Seth Rogen character.
For the rest on this "innovative concept vehicle that fits the needs of all Americans," and some laughs, you should watch the video below. Major-product show rollout speeches tend to be a bit formulaic, and they nailed it.

17 years is hardly old for a car (maybe for a dog its old) and with times like these why waste a good car.

Clunkers for Cash--the reverse of the last couple months. This is the only alternative we'll have in 5 years when the dollar is decimated by the Chinese yuan, we're all walking into Chery dealerships and Government Motors is finally kaput.

Wrong, just SO wrong. The '94 Taurus is totally, utterly, WAY more classic and deserving of posterity than the '93.

A pretty good rig it was. Jus like Jerry, that 93 Taurus never did win no checkered flag but never did come in last.

Nothing wrong with a good used car but 17 years is pushing it. Pity some of those clunkers cars couldn't be retained.

Damn, That Nano looks good. Had no idea the cheapest car in the world,was that good a car. Thanks for the Nano pic.
I love the smell of a braand new car, think Im going to the Nano.
