If you've looked at the Versa and lamented that it's actually a bit bigger and thirstier than what you'd hoped for, you're apparently not alone.

Nissan thinks that there's a reasonably strong market for an even smaller model, so the automaker's high-mpg replacement for its Micra minicar will be sold in the U.S.—beginning as soon as 2011. Last week the 2010 Nissan Altima was revealed prematurely revealed thanks to, oddly enough, a product recall. In the process of recalling 26,398 Nissan Maximas and Altimas, an image of the 2010 Altima was released. While a recall before the car has left the factory may not be an auspicious start to sales, the car's official reveal today shows it has a feature set that's sure to win some fans over.
