The 2010 "grand Bentley" that will replace the Arnage has been spotted by spy photographers over at our partner site, MotorAuthority.com.

The new sedan is scheduled for a world debut at the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours next month, but several preview photos have been revealed--along with some pictures taken from deep within a Bentley workshop.

The new car is expected to grow in size and stature; it may in fact be pitched as a head-on competitor for the Rolls-Royce Phantom sedan, though with a more sporting character.

At the same time, Rolls-Royce is planning a smaller Ghost sedan that will directly challenge the popular Bentley Continental...

Because it's Monday, and because no one likes being rushed back into the office routine, and because -- let's face it -- some of you/us are still hungover from Saturday night at the Flora-Bama lounge, here's another teaser clip for the new Grand Bentley (aka the Bentley Arnage replacement). This is the Grand's fifth veil to drop, and we're likely to see a couple more hit the floor before the dance concludes with the model's presumed debut at the 2009 Concours d'Elegance in Pebble Beach this August. The teaser campaign for the new "grand Bentley" continues with this latest photo from Crewe--the rear roofline of the new sedan that's to replace the Bentley Arnage.

The new sedan is set for a debut at the Pebble Beach Concours in August, and for sale next year. From the details shown in the photo, the new four-door's look bears some resemblance to the Brooklands coupe that's in the current Bentley lineup.

In advance of the debut, Bentley also released the following photo a few weeks ago; it reveals more of the hood and front fenders, with a distinct and pronounced grille said to be inspired by the Bentley 8 race cars of the 1930s.
