Bentley Continental GT Supersports Goes Green; Wait, What?

So here you have it, folks - even the purveyor of the gas hog six-and-three-quarters-liter V-8 is now joining the green movement. We showed you a tease of this new supercar a few weeks back, and speculated on just what Bentley would be doing underhood to arrive claims of greenness, but now we know for sure that E85 (a blend of 85 percent ethanol, 15 percent gasoline) is the reason for Bentley's claim of eco-friendliness.

This vehicle will be dubbed the Bentley Continental Supersports, and here are the specs:

6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 with 621hp and 590 lb-ft torque claimed 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds, 0-100 in 8.9 Top speed of 204 mph fueled by... In The News: Daniel Sperling And Two Billion Cars On The Daily Show

 

Last night on The Daily Show, Jon Stewart had a sit-down with Daniel Sperling, co-author of  Two Billion Cars. (The other authors: policy consultant Deborah Gordon and governator Arnold Schwarzenegger, who wrote the foreward.) As with most talk shows, the segment was too short to generate truly thoughtful, in-depth discussion, but Sperling managed to broach a number of topics, including: the increasing number of vehicles roaming the Earth's surface, the need for sustainable and cleaner methods of transportation, and today's more promising technologies.

As you might expect, Sperling has some fairly strong opinions on these matters, namely:
