101-Year-Old Man Becomes Oldest Camaro Owner

When most people retire they take up golfing, but 101-year-old Virgil Coffman is living life in the fast lane. The active centenarian recently became the oldest-known living owner of a new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro.

Despite initial concern from the sales associate, Coffman knew exactly what he wanted when he purchased the 400-plus horsepower, bright yellow, Transformers edition Camaro. Impressed by the overall design, Virgil was ultimately sold on the cars' easy handling and striking looks.

After owning nearly 40 cars in his lifetime, he follows the philosophy that if you want something, get it.

Drive-Thrus And The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro: Not A Good Match

A few weeks ago we posted some follow-up impressions on the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. While nearly everyone here at TheCarConnection.com loves the way it drives and performs, this time we took a slightly more critical look, in a week of errand-running and daily-grind commuting.

To make it as blunt as possible: when you let that adrenaline rush of the driving experience subside and focus on what's inside, the Camaro doesn't feel nearly so appealing.

"First off, visibility of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro is about the worst we've seen in any production vehicle of late," we observed at that time, mentioning slim field of vision through the back...

Disgruntled 2010 Chevy Camaro Owner: Yep, He's Real. Honest.

Here at TheCarConnection.com, we read a lot of automaker press releases. A week ago today, a pretty unusual one landed on our desks: GM was touting the text of a letter from a "disgruntled owner" of its new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro.

Surprise, surprise, the owner wasn't actually unhappy. Instead, it was a mock complaint citing all the wonderful aspects of the 2010 Camaro in the guise of problems.

For instance, "it's too sexy." And, "they gave me the wrong motor" because "this thing is way too fast for a V6. It practically LEAPS when I step on the gas." And so forth.

It was so in line with GM's talking points that we figured it had been written...
