General Motors Launches Six-Day, 72-Hour Sale

General Motors Launches Six-Day, 72-Hour Sale

In an effort to keep the wheels of (re)invention rolling, General Motors has released plans for a "72-Hour Sale", which starts today and runs through July 6. By our calculations, that's considerably longer than 72 hours, but we're going to give GM the benefit of the doubt and assume they mean business hours. Besides, calling it a "144-Hour Sale" wouldn't be quite as catchy.

To drive home the "72" theme, GM is offering shoppers a shot at 0% financing for up to 72 months (see what they did there?). There are two small caveats: to get that deal, you'll need to be a "well-qualified buyer" (i.e. meet certain credit requirements), and you'll need...

Farrah Fawcett Gone, But Foxy Vette Lives On--Where?

When we heard last night that TV icon Farrah Fawcett was failing, we thought it might be a sad day at TCC HQ. After all, our first memories of the Mustang II came on episodes of Charlie's Angels--and many years later, the Mustang II was one of the first cars in our driveway. Thirty years of acting, a Bionic husband and a burning bed later, Farrah Fawcett's death from cancer at 62 gives us all a little reminder of our own timestamps, and shows even beauty doesn't last forever.

2010 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Product Changes

Inside sources are reporting minor price hikes on the 2010 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, the fastest and most capable performance car fielded by General Motors.

The cost for a new 2010 Corvette ZR1 including the gas guzzler tax is $109,530, an increase of $2910 over 2009. This nets out to an approximate increase of three percent. This increase shouldn't be much concern to those fortunate enough to be able to score a ZR1, especially with reports of dealers marking up this model as much as $10,000.

There are also minor product changes for 2010. The most interesting enhancement is to the Performance Traction Management (PTM) technology, part of a...
