2011 BMW 5-Series Touring Wagon Rendered

The past 48 hours have been big for wagons. Apart from the buzz surrounding the 2011 Mercedes Benz E-class Wagon, there's also been news of the Cadillac CTS-V SportWagon and Honda's likely U.S. launch of an Acura wagon based on the popular Acura TSX. Preview: 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon

As promised, the 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon is headed for a world debut next month on its way to U.S. showrooms in 2010.

Earlier this summer, Mercedes-Benz' American arm dismissed some "silly" reports that suggested world financial woes would delay the wagon until 2012. On schedule, the E-Class Wagon arrives later this year--in production form at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show, and in U.S. showrooms next June.

For auto-show followers, that leaves one more body style in the new E-Class lineup: the 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet is due for a summer launch in 2010, and will make its first appearance at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.
