2010 Audi R8 V-10: MotorAuthority's First Drive

If you've ever been lucky enough to race at Sonoma's Infineon Raceway, you know its pitfalls. Runoffs? Who needs runoffs?

Add in some devastating switchbacks and long, loping straightaways, and it's easy to see lesser cars falling off the respectability scale as the day wears on. But the Audi R8 V-10? It's one of those rare supercars that eats up Infineon with casual grace, without a misstep. High Gear Media drove the new R8 last week, and today, we're giving you the view from the driver's seat.

Rolls-Royce RR4/200EX V-12 Gets More Power Than Phantom

The new baby Roller may shrink in the shadow of the gargantuan Phantom, but it gets more power according to Rolls-Royce. Today they released more details of the RR4 project that was named 200EX in concept guise at its Geneva Motor Show debut.

In addition to spreading the rumor about coupe and convertible iterations, we'd previously reported 6.0-liters of V-12 based on current twin-turbo BMW V-8 architecture, but today Rolls-Royce tells us the new turbo V-12 engine will displace 6.6-liters and churn out over 500 hp (to the Phantom's 453). The displacement makes perfect sense, as doing the math reveals that each one of the cylinders in this...

Coupe, Convertible Versions Of Rolls-Royce 200EX Rumored

Word on the street is that Rolls is planning Coupe and Convertible iterations of its new sub-Phantom sedan, the 200EX concept revealed earlier this month at the Geneva Motor Show. As part of our coverage of the show, we told you about the 12-cylinder-powered concept that will share key structural elements with the redesigned 2009 BMW 7-Series and is the fourth Rolls-Royce vehicle to be developed by BMW.

The new sedan, rumored to be named 'Silver Ghost' and intended for production in about a year, is a decidedly large vehicle but nonetheless shrinks in the shadow of the gargantuan Phantom that we're haughtily piloting around SoCal this week...
