Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Kicks Off

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Kicks Off

Back in 2007, Mercedes-Benz made a brilliant marketing move, scoring the title sponsorship of IMG Fashion's semi-annual Fashion Week in New York. The multimillion-dollar deal keeps the brand front and center of celebrities, publishers, the media, and other insanely wealthy tastemakers. It's an over-the-top, swanky event, and it's a perfect marketing match for Mercedes-Benz, on par with Buick's former deal with the PGA. The Spring 2010 shows kick off today in Bryant Park, so if you're a design enthusiast wanting a break from next week's Frankfurt news, you know where to find it. [PRNewswire]

Smart Goes Trendy (Um, Trendier)

Smart Goes Trendy (Um, Trendier)

Small confession: we love Colette (the store in Paris, not the novelist). It's hip, it's full of nice-looking people, and it's just snooty enough to keep things interesting. (We're talking Paris, after all.) However, we're not entirely sure what the new, eco-friendly "smartEcollette" collection has to do with smart, the ubiquitous Euro citycar brand. Well, except that everything in the collection looks small and shiny and crushable.

Geneva Motor Show: Trashin' The Fashions With Guest Blogger Mr. Steve

Geneva Motor Show: Trashin' The Fashions With Guest Blogger Mr. Steve

Most car sites don't know what to do with auto show booth-babes. Either they ogle the women like sixth graders who've just found their dad's stack of Playboys (dads still read Playboy, right?), or the journalists get jittery about being politically incorrect and ignore the models altogether.

In our humble opinions, both options suck, so here at TCC, we're boldly forging a new, tasteless middle road: we've invited guest blogger and noted couture expert Mr. Steve® to critique the fashions found on the floor of the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. Of course, we all know that booth hostesses don’t have much choice in their convention attire, but that...
