Ford is in by far the best shape of the Detroit Three right now. Their sales are up compared to GM and Toyota, and their 2009 Ford Focus and 2009 Ford Escape were two of the top-selling cars bought using Cash-for-Clunkers credits.

Ford Fanfare: New Lineup, New Tech, And Gosh Darnit, People Like Them

Not wanting to be left out of the "reinvention" moment, Ford has launched its own assault on the marketplace, trumpeting the company's "freshest" model lineup in history, as well as fuel efficiency, quality, and Ford's growing market share.

According to a company press release, Ford is rolling out an "unprecedented" number of new models for MY2010, which represent a similarly "unprecedented investment in advanced new powertrains". Among the vehicles prepping for their close-up are hybrid variants of the 2010 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan, and EcoBoost versions of the Ford Flex, Lincoln MKT, and Lincoln MKS. In the automotive world, the words big and responsive don't normally go together.  The all-new 2010 Lincoln MKT puts those two words comfortably in a curvy shape that stands out in a parking lot and on the road. (What else can you drive with a grill that looks like a baleen whale?)

We introduced you to Lincoln's full-size, three-row crossover as a concept back at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show, and then as a production vehicle at the 2009 show. The newest Lincoln shares underbody components with the popular 2009 Ford Flex, but you'd be hard-pressed to notice anything familiar between the two vehicles if you parked one next to the other....
