Volkswagen has decided that small cars will only rise in prominence as fuel prices inevitably climb again. As such, they've decided to bring the new Polo to the U.S., which will slot beneath the Rabbit in VW's American lineup. However, for U.S. duty, they've made some tweaks to the vehicle that debuted at the Geneva Motor Show.

Suiting American tastes, a four-door sedan version of the Polo will be offered. As well, the hatch will increase in both height and wheelbase to suit Americans' propensity to haul sometimes ridiculous amounts of gear to and fro. Word on the street is that Rolls is planning Coupe and Convertible iterations of its new sub-Phantom sedan, the 200EX concept revealed earlier this month at the Geneva Motor Show. As part of our coverage of the show, we told you about the 12-cylinder-powered concept that will share key structural elements with the redesigned 2009 BMW 7-Series and is the fourth Rolls-Royce vehicle to be developed by BMW.
