Maserati Helps Find Top Architectural Garages

You've likely seen one of several 'dream garages' books or Web sites that single out certain garages mostly by their collection of cars inside, their sheer size and number of vehicles, or celebrity ownership.

To honor garage design itself rather than who or what's inside, Maserati and Architectural Digest magazine have sponsored a "Design Driven" competition that gathered about 125 entries.

The winning entry in the Existing Garage Category was designed by Holger Schubert of Los Angeles, in a new addition to a 1953 LA hillside ranch-style house. The room is designed like a gallery, with a minimalist look that draws focus to the car....

Spy Shots: 2011 Maserati Granturismo Spyder

While Maserati offers up test drives of the sensuous new Granturismo S to a host of playas--not including us!--we're content to bring you this pic of the new Granturismo Spyder that's working its way through rigorous testing.

The convertible is due in March of next year, which makes it a 2011 model by our count. Its convertible lid is cloaked here in black plastic, but the droptop version is for real--only, no one's sure yet if it's a hardtop convertible like the Ferrari California, or a fabric-roofed spyder in the league of the Jaguar XKR.
