Mini Celebrates 50th Anniversary With New Coupe Concept

Today marks fifty years to the day since the first, classic incarnation of the Mini was first shown and to celebrate the event the company is set to unveil a brand new concept car that will eventually star at next month’s Frankfurt Auto Show.

Dubbed the 2009 Mini Coupe Concept, the latest concept car previews what could possibly the next Mini variant destined for production and the by the looks of it we sure do hope so. Mini Releases First-Ever Roadside Assistance App

So you ran over a log with your new Mini and you're stuck at the side of the road with nothing but your iPhone and a bag of Cheetos? Yeah, there's an app for that.

Mini has just announced availability of an app that it's billing as the first of its kind: a roadside assistance app that phones home to report your vehicle's key information and your exact GPS location.

Available for free to Mini owners (iTunes link), the app duplicates functionality commonly seen in higher-end telematics systems, which are generally expensive options even on already well-equipped luxury vehilces. They can also require monthly service fees to maintain.
