Since June of this year, the Department of Energy's Advanced Technology Vehicle program has awarded low-interest loans to encourage the development of next-gen cars. Ford, Nissan, Tesla, and Fisker got in on the action, but one outside-the-box company has been left on the sidelines: Aptera. The company's 2e model has been legally classified as a motorcycle, so Aptera hasn't been eligible for the program, but that'll change with Congress' redefining of the term "automobile". Yes, as strange as that headline may seem, the mad, bad, and dangerous to know Orange County Choppers was commissioned by Siemens to build an electric motorcycle. The result: a fairly badass looking bike, even though the 60-mile range and 100 mph top speed seem a little meager to our jaundiced eyes. However, seeing OCC's tatt-laden, rough-and-tumble Paul Teutel, Sr. forcing a smile atop something branded Siemens is good for a laugh.
