Start Spreadin' The News: Hyundai Equus Slouches Toward The States

When you're in the news biz, your ears tend to perk up when you hear phrases like "off the record" or "just between us". That's why we got a little giddy when we came across this nifty quote about the Hyundai Equus from an "inside source":

"You didn't hear it from me... But you wouldn't be far off if you said the car was coming to the United States. Our chairman wants it."

Sounds like great gossip, right? Really hush-hush, inside info? Well, some of that luster wore off just a bit when we came across this much more direct quote from John Krafcik, the president and CEO of Hyundai Motors America, who's showing off the car at the Javits...

Subaru Gives 2010 Outback World Premiere At NYC Show

Subaru's one of the few automakers who enjoyed sales increases for 2008. Today at the New York International Auto Show they introduced their new 2010 Outback, which is based on the completely redesigned 2010 Legacy chassis.

It's fitting Subaru chose the U.S. for the 2010 Outback's release; many of the Outback's exceedingly loyal, go-anwhere iconoclast customers are located in the States. The new Outback, they say, is the second example of their "customers come first" design philosophy, the first being the wildly successful 2009 Subaru Forester. The U.S. is clearly the most important market for the new Outback.

Hyundai has a new concept for the world--one plugged into the future of gas-electric hybrids.

The Nuvis concept makes its North American debut at the 2009 New York auto show today, though it's leaked all over the Web like an excited puppy. These are the first official photos, along with the surprise shot we got earlier today as Hyundai did a dry run through their press conference.

The Nuvis is a "next-generation crossover" and an expression of a design idea of a "living machine," according to the press release we were sent prior to the concept's unveiling. The large glass areas lend a "floating" feel to the roof, they say, and the details...
