Microsoft has lost face in recent years -- both in court and in the marketplace -- but with the release of Windows 7, the folks from Redmond are working hard to restore the company's stature. One of the ways they're doing that is via strategic partnerships, including some targeted directly at auto enthusiasts. Example: a selection of Windows 7 theme galleries that allow users to customize their desktop environment with images and icons from Infiniti, Porsche, and Ferrari. Preview: 2012 Porsche Lineup

Porsche is planning to revitalize its entire lineup within the next couple of years, with seven new models, including some new faces, reportedly in the works. Things must be very busy within the walls of Porsche’s Stuttgart headquarters, according to Autocar, which is reporting that the seven models will be launched between now and 2012.

Kicking off the new model revitalization will be a V-6 powered Panamera and a turbodiesel version, both due next year.
