Four-door coupes are still a relatively new segment, especially in the mainstream large luxury arena, which the Mercedes-Benz CLS essentially has to itself for now. But Audi has a rival in the works, a sleek yet spacious four-door cruiser called the A7, and it's due in late 2010.
Recent heavy investments in the Neckarsulm plant tip Audi's intent to take the car to production. Cars are expected to start rolling off the assembly line late in 2010, according to a report by Auto Motor und Sport. U.S. buyers can expect to see it on showroom floors early in 2011.

Hot on the heels of the recently unveiled BMW 5-Series GT comes word that a 3-Series GT is also in the works. Expected to be based around the next-generation 3-Series Sedan, due around the same time, the addition of the 3-Series GT will lift the 3-Series body count to five (coupe, convertible, sedan, wagon and the GT five-door).
The 3-Series GT should get the same raised seating position and ride height as the bigger 5-series GT and will also likely adopt a two-tier rear hatch design. Both RWD and xDrive AWD configurations are expected as well, with power coming from a range of four- and six-cylinder engines.

Among other topics in a lengthy and comprehensive survey, an online used-car seller asked drivers about their underwear. And the drivers responded in remarkable detail, revealing some interesting (and disturbing) facts about what's under those track suits.
Online used-car vendor Carmony.co.uk studied British drivers' attitudes and habits. The survey covered typical topics--knowledge of cars, driving habits, and the like--and a few you wouldn't find on, say, the JD Power Initial Quality Survey. Like, errrr, underwear.
