When Aston Martin unveiled the Lagonda SUV concept in Geneva last March, reviews ran the gamut from "mixed" to "ow, my eyes!" Not surprisingly, the automaker recently announced that the clunky SUV won't see the light of day anytime soon. In doing so, Aston Martin used the currently fashionable explanation that producing the Lagonda doesn't make sense given the economic climate, but we know the truth. Research and statistics firm Nielsen has released more data about U.S. shopping and buying habits, and as always, the company's findings are pretty interesting. In fact, after surveying 250,000 Americans online, Nielsen has identified a few causes for optimism in the auto industry, despite today's flailing economy.

Most importantly: Nielsen finds that people are shopping. Yes, vehicle sales are down, year-over-year--way down. Like, around 37% down. 2010 GMC Terrain Priced

GMC says the 2010 Terrain crossover will start with a base price just below $25,000.

Front-drive Terrains sticker t $24,995 including destination, while the all-wheel-drive edition starts from $26,745.

Using a platform shared with the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox, the GMC Terrain is set to slot into GMC’s lineup as a little brother to the successful Acadia full-size crossover. Under its creased hood are new powertrains, a choice of  a four-cylinder or a V-6.

The base 2.4-liter four-cylinder is the first four for a GMC crossover or SUV since the 1980s, and it makes an estimated 182 hp. GM predicts best-in-segment EPA fuel economy ratings of 21 mpg...
