Here at TCC, we don't put much faith in astrology, phrenology, or any other system that assigns personality traits based on birthdays, hat sizes, or anything else that hasn't been chosen. Instead, we prefer data that stems from personal preferences: what does your favorite color, website, or rock band say about you? Survey: Most U.S. Car Buyers Want Domestic Brands

Market share of the Detroit 3 has been deteriorating in the U.S. for years, dipping below the 50% mark for the first time in late 2007 and continuing the slide despite the best efforts of the government. Last month, the Detroit 3 only accounted for 43.9% of the passenger vehicle market, while Asian brands accounted for 48% and European brands roughly 7.5%.

The Detroit 3 may see a turnaround in this trend, however, as a new survey suggests that most Americans still want to buy their cars from an American brand.

Media metrics powerhouse Nielsen Research spends a great deal of time analyzing TV ratings and buying habits, but the company has also kept its eye on the federal government's Cash-for-Clunkers initiative. New data reveals some interesting insights about the program and its effect on the public.
